Role of Pediatric Nurses Regarding Children’s Needs Undergoing Hemodialysis Therapy

Background: Pediatric nurse plays an important role in management needs of children with chronic renal failure (CRF) and undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Aim: It was to assess pediatric nurses regarding children's Research design: A descriptive design utilized for this study. Settings: This study conducted at Hemodialysis Unit Children’s Hospital affiliated to Ain Shams University Hospitals El-Zahra University Hospital. Subject: purposive sample including 50 caring children therapy (25 and 25 from 25nurses Hospital). Tools: questionnaire sheet constituted 3 parts assess: Demographic characteristics, nurses’ knowledge therapy, Quality life scale, tool is adapted (Varni & Limbers, 2011) determine the needs Results: There were highly statistically significant differences between total studied also their role about hemodialysis educational level, years experience attending training courses (p < 0.01). In addition, there positive correlation knowledge Conclusion: The current concluded that, the namely physical, social emotional are affected by experience attendance courses. Recommendations: Periodic assessment knowledge, practice continuous course all who providing care for based on children’s actual assessment.
